I am unsure how the VOC sailed from Holland to Ceylon, but it could be via the Cape of Good Hope at the southernmost tip of South Africa. I have translated the web contents from Dutch to English and edited the contents to make out the genealogy for the van Rooyen descendants. Princess van Rooyen is the only van Rooyen name I have, to search for my ascendants.
